Personal Story: How I ended up at IST
I grew up in the United States, and was raised in a family where education was a focus as both my parents worked in the education sector. During my university studies, I spent a semester here in Växjö, Sweden at Linné University. When I later in life moved permanently to Sweden, I had the opportunity to join IST working with a new School Administration system. Wanting to make an impact on schools, I was motivated to learn more about how I could make a difference through IT. Once joining IST, I knew I had found my “home” here in Sweden.
Why do I make a good Product Owner:
My analytical skills and attention to detail are valuable when working with analysing and breaking down system requirements. I also have the communication skills needed in the many interactions a Product Owner has with different roles and personalities throughout the company – from testers and developers to business analysts, project leaders, and our product manager.
What is the best thing about working at IST:
Being a part of creating products that will benefit school and childcare leaders, administrators, teachers, parents, and of course – students!! Knowing that my own three children could benefit from our products in the schools right here in Växjö; and doing it all together with great colleagues!!
What is the most important mission for IST:
To maintain focus on the main, underlying goal which I believe all of our products within Education have: to enhance learning experiences for students, teachers and parents, and simplify the administrative processes needed for creating learning environments where anything is possible.
