Group Communication Manager

Well, if you in addition to that always have longed for the opportunity to use all these amazing skills and traits of yours, and do something with them that really can make a difference in people’s lives...then we suggest you keep on reading. 

IST is the leading Scandinavian edtech company, we have been helping schools improve for more than 30 years, and our mission is to make sure everyone learns more. One vital thing in order for us to achieve this mission is making sure we can communicate adequately. And that might be where you come in.

We are now looking for a Group Communication Manager, to work from our headquarters in Växjö (or one of our other offices in Scandinavia) which consists of approximately 180 TwISTers (400 in total). You will be a part of our Business Support department, which means that your primary task is to make sure to provide world class support within your area of expertise, to the rest of our organization.

In your role you will be given a lot of freedom with regard to working with our internal and external communication. And yes, that range is just as wide as you are thinking right now. It could mean big strategic strokes with the pencil, like discussing how we aim to work in the upcoming years to make sure we can reach as many people as possible with our intent and purpose. Or on the other side, sitting down in front of your computer and getting your hands dirty by creating graphical marketing material, forming social media campaigns, and last but not least: go bananas in our social channels when the timing is right.

You are probably an expert in PR, and in reading people’s minds, possibly knowing what kind of information they need in order for them to make a decision, before they know it themselves. It wouldn’t surprise us if you are the one we need to remind that “clear the building first, and post it on Instagram afterwards” in case of the fire alarm going off. And, besides your super ability to make something great out of something good using only words and pictures, the most important thing for us is that you are someone that shares the values and beliefs that IST does. Oh, and you shouldn’t be allergic to coffee either, because we do drink “a few” cups a day.

Requirements:

  • At least three years’ experience from similar roles, working with both strategic analysis as well as operational hands on tasks
  • Documented experience and willingness to work with PR-related issues
  • Experience from creating marketing material and attending/arranging different fairs and events
  • A good technical understanding of the tools and systems needed in order for you to be able to produce great marketing material
  • Experience from leading various projects, and working in a project oriented way with colleagues in different geographical locations
  • A creative mindset and ability to find new ways of fixing problems, not necessarily by re-inventing the wheel but by thinking curiously and brave
  • Fully fluent in English and Swedish, both writing and speaking

As mentioned above, you will be a part of the Communication Unit within Business Support, which consists of five people based in three countries. You will report to the Head of Communication, who works from Linköping in Sweden. In other words, you also need to be prepared to travel to our other offices from time to time, in order to meet your nearest (and soon to be dearest) colleagues in person.
